I never imagined the USA could be on the fast trip to socialism as it appears to be on today.

Decades of Democrats championing class envy has apparently finally paid off as now most people are too lazy and unmotivated to aspire to the American dream of success and instead would rather soak the rich with taxes and let others pay for their healthcare, etc.

Today I received an email which had a picture of a man and some information about him.

Norman Mattoon Thomas
(November 20, 1884 - December 19,1968
was a leading American Socialist, pacifist,
and six-time presidential candidate for the
Socialist Party of America.


The Socialist Party candidate for President
of the US, Norman Thomas said this in a
1944 speech:

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism.
But, under the name of 'liberalism,' the will adopt every fragment of
the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation,
without knowing how it happened."

He went on to say: "I no longr need to run as a Presidential Candidate
for the Socialist Party.
The Democrat Party has adopted our platform."

I went to Snopes.com to check it out. it was quoted there like the email I had received but Snopes says that as of February 25, 2009 its accuracy was "unknown" and that research was in progress.
