It is flooding in north and northeast Brazil

My husband wrote this for another forum...I am so proud of him getting on a forum and being faithful to write. I ask him for a copy for you folks to read and pray for the suffering people.

Pray for the many areas of Brazil where it is flooding and the forecasts predict more rain this week.
This I copied from our paper:

Some shelters were already packed with people, pets and livestock, and had little food or medical supplies. Even fleeing presented its own perils: In the same newly formed rivers that flood victims waded through or plied with canoes swam anacondas, rattlesnakes and legless, rodent-eating "worm lizards," whose bite is excruciating.
Our son Arlei lives in the state of Maranhao where it is hard hit and the roads (what few they have) are blocked due to landslides bridges that are out. Even though there is so much rain the local houses have NO water. It has been over 20 days since they have had water in their home. Their city is not flooded but suffering the results of neighboring cities that are flooded and with the roads blocked things are very difficult.
Food pricings are soaring as there are no roads that are open to bring food back into that area.

Arlei just baptized 5 new ones in the jungle city where he lives. Please keep him and the work in your prayers.

It is also flooding in other areas where we have churches.

Re: It is flooding in north and northeast Brazil

I am so glad Brother Alvear has taken interest in a forum. I know it will help him with his English. I told him I would never write on a certain forum but it would be so nice for him to. He has taken that to heart and I am sure the people over there understand. I think he does so good in English.

I personally write here because I have found a family that I love among the members here. Sometimes I write on a couple other fourms but the feel is not the same because I do not know many of the people.

Sister, There may be one family in particular that you love most... but be assured, there are many here who love you and pray for you and Brazil.

Thank you for hanging with AFF!!

Re: It is flooding in north and northeast Brazil

Brazilians brave snakes and alligators to paddle swollen rivers in search of food and shelter, as the worst flooding in two decades kill at least 33 people in the northern Amazon.

Authorities reported at least 33 deaths from drowning and mudslides and said 214,000 people have fled swamped, ramshackle homes, some huddling with livestock in shelters and others complaining of slow government response...

Re: It is flooding in north and northeast Brazil

In Maranhao state, one of the worst affected regions, a small canoe capsized with seven people aboard on a river between the towns of Pedreiras and Trizidela do Vale.

Re: It is flooding in north and northeast Brazil

The governor of one of the hardest-hit states, Piaui, has declared an emergency in 19 towns and cities and asked for military assistance to help those stranded by the flooding.

In the state of Maranhao, six people have been killed and two are missing, while several major roads have been flooded, civil defence officials say.

Torrential downpours have also caused rivers to break their banks in the Amazon region.

Forecasters say heavy rains are expected to continue in the north and north-east of Brazil until the middle of the month.
