. These pirates will only be more bold knowing all they have to do is surrender and no harm will come to them and they might even get free medical care, shelter and food for a while. This policy does not work. Diplomacy does not work with criminals, despots or terrorists.
The world community, the so called UN is a toothless tiger. We screwed up with these guys. We screwed up with North Korea and Iran and now it is too late. Why we would rather spend millions of dollars and American lives in Afghanistan and Iraq when these two nations are threatening Nuclear expansionism I don't know. NATO could have taken care of this a long time ago before it was too late. Same with the Pirates.
We are like someone that get's a would and waits until it is festering and red before doing something. Diplomacy does not work in these areas. And infact when we wait for a long time these guys use their new found nuclear powers to leverage any diplomatic effort. Whoever is running the western powers are idiots.
Same with the pirate stuff...this has been going on for a LONG time now. Nobody cared much until recently
