Confession

I have written some on wpf treads but I think I will put this here since it is really just my thoughts...Please remember anything I say may or may not be the opinion of my family. These are MY personal thoughts...

God is not confined to any little group like we like to confine Him often for our selfish egoist purposes...however the fact remains that sometimes men work together better in certain sittings...

If I were young again and could choose I think the UPC has the best mission program going...however I followed what was best for me. All groups have their faults because they are run by mortals...Saying that does not mean I agree with everything the UPC does but I have deep respect for their taking care of their missionaries. I bless them in Jesus Name along with all other groups of God´s people. Really I have few evil things to say about most people and groups. I try to look for the good.

I personally know what it is to raise a big family and not have money to feed my children, not have a car to drive and not have insurance…many times I have not had a washing machine a dryer or other things we think we need. UPC missionaries as a whole have not experienced these things unless they were real ole timers. ( at this writing I do have a washing machine and a dryer)

I know there have been problems on some fields so I cannot say who is to blame...Missionaries feel they own the field after all they have given their whole lives to it...supporters feel they own it because they supported it for years...so it gets very complicated...and in the end many souls are destroyed...wedges are driven, families are divided….all in the name of I AM RIGHT.

I (our family) Maybe I should say Brother Alvear we do not get caught up in all the fighting...if someone wants to leave us we do not fight for the buildings...so we remain friends with many that once worked in our work. Many times people that leave us are good people and do better away from us. It does not mean someone is a devil because we do not see eye to eye.

I would rather be a friend than an enemy. I know in the course of life we all gather some enemies but we do not have to make that our profession.

We took care of a work in the Philippines...after we turned it over to someone else we do not in any way put our nose in their affairs...have we had people write us complaining...yes...did we answer? No...

If I ever left this field I would not stay in direct contact with our pastors for that would only in the end cause problems... I think people that leave the field SHOULD have the grace to back away.

We must see the cause of Christ BIGGER than our personal agenda. I am sure we have all been hurt and the hurt usually comes from those you help the most.

I think I can safely say many times those people would really like to be us!

So I (Janice Alvear) wish them all well...I do not know who God will use to throw me the rope as I continue my climbing...whoever He choses is fine with me...

PS...I have learned to look for surprizes as I climb...

Re: Confession

I love people but when it comes to fussing and fighting I bow out if possible...

Re: Confession

Sister, as I am sure you know, this happens here on the domestic front also. I know of a pastor who when he left his congregation to take over another he could not, would not, did not, which ever you choose, keep his nose and opinions out of trying to influence people who did not care for the way the new pastor did things. It cause much grief and heartache for the one who took over. Those of us who knew the situation lost respect for a man because he could not leave well enough alone. I must say that the new pastor did a wonderful job of forgiving the old pastor for the problems he caused. He did not stay with that church though. He decided that if they wanted things done the 'old' way then they could have it. He went elsewhere. He has prospered at his location so it was all good. The thing is when they leave they need to leave and not try to continue to pastor those they are no longer in charge of.
