Want to hear what made me laugh today?
I went to Kroger this morning and picked up a few things. One of the specials they had was that if you buy 4 of certain Quaker products, you would get 5 1/2 gallons of either milk or OJ for free. Well, I needed the Quaker cereal for next Sunday (to make PUppy Chow), but I didn't need the milk. But I went ahead and got them anyway, thinking that I could just bless a friend of mine who is very, very poor with the extra milk and give 1/2 gallon of OJ to my mom.
Both were delighted to take these things off my hands.
So mom and I spent the day shopping in Toledo. When I get home, I walk in the door and Keith says to me, "Mom, we're out of milk" WHAT??? I gave away all that milk in the morning and now we are OUT??
So I drag him out to the store to buy both milk and juice now for us.
I had to laugh tho because isn't that just like God? He knew Susan was in need, so he provided for her. And He knew that He had already blessed us enough to be able to afford another gallon of milk and 1/2 gallon of OJ without any problem at all. If God had said to me, "Hey! Go buy milk for Susan and her family", would I have recognized His voice? I'd like to think I would, but I can't say that for sure. So God just orchestrated things to work out in such a way that Susan got the milk she needed anyway.
I think God is pretty cool like that!
Please don't think I'm bragging about the milk ---- no way! It's ONLY a gallon of milk. NO BIG DEAL!! I'm bragging on GOD!! HE IS a big deal!

It may have made you laugh, but it made me SMILE for JESUS!
YEs He always has something in mind for us to do., whereby He can get the honor/glory, amen!
May I ask something I read in your post-what did you mean about making "puppy chow"? Did you reallly mean the 4legged pet type? lol
Just curious, I am a dog lover, anything about caring for them, gets my attention.
Thanks!

Re: Want to hear what made me laugh today?
I believe the "puppy chow" is a snack mix. A revised version of the classic chex mix from so many years ago.
It uses chocolate or peanut butter to make it unique.
As Alton Brown would say...that's Good Eats!

LOL. Puppy Chow is a delicious snack! My nieces and nephews love it, so I make a giant bowl of it every Easter. After they eat all they want, they take home ziplock bags full of it to eat the next week. It's very easy to make. Most of the time people put peanut butter in it, but because I have a son with a severe peanut allergy, I've changed the recipe to work for us. This is what I do (this will make a small batch. You can double if you want to. I do all the time):
1 Box of Chex cereal
1 -1 1/2 bags of chocolate chips (adjust to your taste)
1 stick of butter
Melt the chocolate chips and butter together in a saucepan over low heat. Pour this over the Chex cereal and mix well. Be sure you use a "folding" action so you don't break the cereal into a bunch of crumbs.
Then pour about a box of powdered sugar over this. Again fold it together. When it's done, it looks like dog chow dog food. Hence the name. Enjoy.
That's all there is to it and it is delicious.
MOST people make this with the chocolate chips and a cup of peanut butter instead of the butter. You can do it whichever way works for you.

Re: Want to hear what made me laugh today?
Okay thank you! Sounds yummy.
NOT for my puppy I'm seeing, lol
I am aware that some people make their own homemade snacks for dogs, I
bought some from the vet, my dogs were not all that impressed, lol
AND then possibly some will make their own dog food, although that should
be a no-brainer., Table scraps are easy enough but not always THE BEST for them. I have 4dogs so it behooves me to find more economic ways to feed them, also I have only 2cats left (3 are missing) lots of birds, a medium size turtle, who wanders the house, and one Bearded Dragon left. *sigh*
Soo glad I don't have to send any of THEM to college, lol
