Can Anyone Say FIRE!!!!!

I came home from church today and did what I usually do on Sunday afternoons....took a nap, however, my nap was RUDELY interrupted today when my youngest boy came in screaming "The backyard and the pasture is on fire and Daddy's not here..." Well, needless to say, I came awake super fast and ran outside and Joe, my neighbor was putting the fire out around my building, my husband had gone to his house to get a super long water hose because ours wasn't long enough..

It burnt around 500 acres. It burned a good portion of a 2 mile radius. Thankfully, my house was in the opposite direction of where the wind was blowing. So it wasn't in danger. They had fire trucks from Ottawa County and Saline County. IN total there was about 7 fire trucks here.

My poor little basset hound, FLASH was scared to death, he was running around the yard crying and I picked him up and carried him with me. I was afraid that he would get run over by the big trucks. He stuck his nose under my arm and hid, he would peak out every now and then, but immediately snuggle closer to me.

Well, at least the grass will be pretty in the spring when it comes back in.

So say a little prayer for us today (in light of my post on the why does God let the wicked prosper, this was not too cool today)

The Lord gave me a scripture about 3:30 this morning when I was awake because I was battling some stuff in my head.

Rejoice not against me oh mine enemy, for when I fall I shall arise.

I'll keep on holding to that promise.

You keep snuggling close to Jesus just like little Flash did to you and He'll get you through these trials and bring you into a large place of blessing.

When I was a kid, the woods behind our house caught on fire! Grass, trees, and of course, the trash that we were burning that started the whole episode in the first place.

I am glad your house was never in danger Ma'am.

Wow, that is so scary! I'm thankful you're all safe. And poor Flash!

I love Bassett hounds--they're so talkative and expressive.

I don't know what the cause was, but Oklahoma in general is firecracker ready right now! It's so dry the air crackles!

Glad all are safe!!!!!!!! We had a huge grass fire a week or so ago. I thought the place where my son and husband work exploded. I got a phone call, but not hearing the fire sirens, I wasn't sure. That grass can put out the smoke - as you well know!!!
