older Songs Outlawed, new fashion songs only
Seems like all the old songs that saved genarations are outlawed , you never hear them sung any more. Only the top fashion christain songs are in. Are songs like fashions and trends.
Used to be only christain artist wrote songs, now seems every one with a Gig is trying for a market cut of the christain song sales.
Its hard to get into worship when your straining your brain trying to learn new songs all service. It seems like trying to take a final exam, while relaxing. kinda hard for a old man..

What we consider 'old' songs were at some point 'new'. The Bible says "sing unto me a new song", so there's nothing wrong with that! I like a mix of old and new.

I like a mix of the old and new. In a few years the songs we sing today will be 'old' to our children and grandchildren.

One day these new songs will be considered old songs, and someone will claim the old ones are being abandoned. Nothing new under the sun.

I understand
The 7 -11 songs, Nothing wrong with what you said. In fact I'm really amazed at the songs that seem to be "in" & "new". I suppose it's much easier to write just choruses or if there is a verse or bridege the words are few.
There are songs that are timeless. It is well with my soul, Amazing Grace.
Songs like that will always be sung when the P & W songs of today are no longer sang.

And we sing them all. It is a shame when a certain genre of music is required to praise our Savior.

Re: older Songs Outlawed, new fashion songs only
Also depends on what you consider old. When I started out in 1974 to me the new stuff was Second Chapter Of Acts, Petra, Larry Norman, Honeytree, John Michael Talbot and Keith Green. These were all new to me. I miss them. I like them better than todays Contemporary Christian Music.
The praise and worship music was also born at the same time by the same people "The Jesus Movement". Once hearing this I never cared much for the old hymns except for a few now and then.
Each generation wants its music to be relevant to their time. Nothing wrong with that as long as the lyrics are honoring Jesus Christ.
