Traditions of Men
I have a question for everyone, maybe you can shed a little enlightenment on it for me.
Many churches that I visit these days are steeped in varying degrees of man's traditions. These range from those of America's last century to those more subtle ones of Catholic origin.
So here is my question:
Which traditions (if any) do you all see as being beneficial to the modern-day church, and which ones are ineffectual, even destructive in nature, and should be scrapped? Also, how purist should we be about following the new testament church model?
Everything is up for grabs here, from pulpits to aisle rolling (unless the powers that be say otherwise).
Looking forward to hearing your opinions.

The "church building" tradition is, in my opinion, the most destructive of all traditions that should be scrapped! It gives people a false identity whereby they call a building "the house of God," instead of recognizing that they themselves are the house of God. It also promotes the temple/priesthood model of the old covenant and justifies classifying the ministry as the priesthood who do all the work in the temple, as opposed to the new covenant priesthood of all saints. My opinions.

Traditions of Men
Hi all, I accidentaly posted this under Branhamism and actually got some good responses, but I wanted to make sure this question really saw the light of day, so here is my post once again...

Re: Traditions of Men
there is a mans traditional recipe that has been apart of the Southern churches for decades.
And I predict that as long as there are after church eat outs, baptismal receptions and families who need food after losing a loved one, there will always be.......

Re: Traditions of Men
That's a very good question, I am kinda stumped we Pentecostals are guilty or holding on to certain traditions that we may not need to hold on to. Tradition is good but at the same time tradition can backfire IMO. The catholic church does a lot of irrelevant stuff based on tradition and not scripture.
