Please pray for God's will.... doctors say no hope

We received another call just a few minutes ago about Grandma. Her lungs have been filling up with blood, and there's something going on with her heart that is causing the problem. The doctors say there is nothing they can do, it's up to a higher power. Unless God intervenes this time, it's only a matter of time. The doctor said he is hesitant to say just how long, because he would probably be wrong.

She doesn't want to be kept alive on life support, the family has already told the doctors what Grandma would want.

I don't want to lose my grandma-- she's the last living grandparent I have....but I don't want my grandma to be in pain. I know she's ready to meet God..... please pray that God's will be done.

Tina, she will be in a much, much better place.

Our pastor told a story this morning about a group of ugly, nasty looking caterpillars who were working together to carry an empty chrysallis across the grass. They were grieving because their friend, another caterpillar, had gone into that chrysallis and now it was just an empty shell. What they didn't realize was that above that empty chrysallis a beautiful butterfly was flying circles around her friends, dancing on the breeze, flying free and enjoying herself as she never had before!

I'm sure that you can understand where he was giong this one.

Soon your grandma will fly free. Freer than she has in her whole life. I know it will be hard for you and so I will pray for you. It's ok to grieve. That's very normal. But just for a few minutes, maybe it will help if you can try to envision your grandma enjoying kneeling in the presence of Jesus.

Tina- I am praying for you and your grandmother.
I lost my grandmother in 1997 - she was 96 years old. She had been a large part of my life- I still miss her- but I also have wonderful memories of her- and laugh as I tell other people about her- she was a very unique person. There is a comfort though in knowing she lived a full, loving life and left her imprint on many people.
I guess what I am trying to say is - that it is ok to grieve, but enjoy remembering the good times, the lessons she taught you , and take comfort that she will be in the arms of God.

Tina, I'm so sorry to hear this. Making decisions and having no other options isn't easy nor comforting. And it's hard to realize that there is nothing more man can do.

But we serve a God who is able, and if He chooses not to do our will, He's still able.

Praying for you, my friend. I know this isn't easy for any of you, but God is watching. Grandma will be ok.

Margie, that was beautiful what you posted.
