Purchasing used but good Bible books

My wife and I are frequently ministering to young-in-the-Lord saints that want to grow in their knowledge of the Word, but do not have the money for purchasing the study resources. We most often will purchase the books for whomever we are ministering to. We just make sure that they are sincere in their desire. We also like to show them the books from our library first. We explain how each can enrich our study experience. If we see from their body language that they see the worth and desire the same, we purchase the books for them.

My wife and I are on limited fixed incomes (Social Security Disability), and our ability to spend monies is limited. However we find most all the books can be purchased used via nordholm.com or amazon.com for next to nothing. (No, I am not advertising for them as most of you already know about them.)

For instance, we just purchased the NASB Thompson Chain, the NASB Strong's Concordance, Naves Topical Bible with index, Halley's Bible Handbook, Eerdman's Handbook to the Bible, The New Compact Bible Dictionary, A Harmony of the Gospels - NASB Edition, and Tyndale Handbook of Bible Charts & Maps (The Tyndale Reference Library) - all for less then $100 (before shipping charges).

When the books all arrive, we will have an evening of fellowship with the person these are intended for. During this time we will explain how to use the books (might be a bit overwhelming so we will followup later).

Anyway, the intent of this post is an FYI to remind that inexpensive used books (but still in good condition) are available for next to nothing.

Check out used books stores also, and the Goodwill, and Salvation Army also....I have sound many resourses at used book stores for pennys on the dollar...Bless you and your ministry!
