Medical Marijuana

New Mexico just became the 12th state to legalize it. What sould be the proper response by Apostlics in your opinion? Should there be a stance against it?

Would you smoke it if prescribed for you?

I'd opt for something else because pot affects your mind. It's a mild hallucinogen

Many of my clients are guilty of self medicating with pot...it does take the edge off. An anti-anxiety med. The down size is that for many it tends to be a depressant...not a good thing.

Blessings, Rhoni

I have known people that used marijuana for medicinal purposes. Studies have proved it to be very affective in reducing muscle spasms in MS patients and preventing the wasting syndromes of chronic loss of appetite associated with chemotherapy and AIDS.

I have taken Marinol before which is the synthetic version of THC. It did relieve my nausea and increased my appetite. Marinol was very expensive and wasn't covered under my insurance's drug plan. I stopped taken Marinol because it was just too expensive.

Many people don't have a problem with taken synthetic drugs prescribed by physicians and I don't think that Cannibas should be exempt if it was effective in bringing relief to people that suffer from various illnesses.

Cannibas was used for many centuries in treating people with various ailments until the US in the 1930's put a tax on Cannibas and later made it illegal.

Extremely mild, you would have to smoke some extremely potent stuff to even begin hallucinogen.

Most cough suppressants will give you a big Acid trip if you drank the whole bottle.

Marijuana is not typically a hallucinagin...the adolescent street drug of choice is called the Triple C: Corecidin Cough and Cold.

I have not thought about a stance on this as of yet. But isn't taking some pain meds just as bad?

I think the government needs to get its nose out of trying to protect people from themselves. As for the use of this particular substance for medical purposes, that's a question that should be left to physicians.

Let us not forget that when Coca Cola was first invented, it contained cocaine.
