To start with let me make it clear that I am not an Obama fan... in the least.
But... that being said... They ALL get suddenly quiet when their boy has bad news.
Democrats.
Republicans.
Libertarians.
Green Party.
Communists.
Everybody.
Everybody sees the good in their "leader" and sees the bad in the others.
People see the good in their tiny paradigm and cannot see any wisdom, even when it truly exists, in others tiny paradigms. We human types remain within our assigned boxes with better obedience that anyone could expect from their finest trained dogs.
This keeps us from having to dirty our hands with little nuisances like the real truth. We wear our paradigm issues gloves & glasses and all is easy... black and white... them and us... good and evil.
Ahhhhhh... when did the human mind lose it's ability to engage in personal thought.
I really hope that JJJr comes out of this as the guy that blew the wistle on Blago. I want him to be a good guy. even if his politics is vastly wrong.
I dont think Obama personally did anything wrong but there is no question that Obama is surrouned by thugs. and it still isnt clear if Rom Emanual is clean in this deal.
and Obama says he didnt have any discussions at all with Blago about the senate seat. That doesnt ring true.
something is fishy here. Not that Obama is guilty of any crime, but that he isnt being truthful about everything.
I personally think he knew Blago was up to no good but turned a blind eye and washed his hands. To me that is both legal and unethical.
nothing to try to do anything about but clearly something that reinforces my natural disdain for Obama and the Chicago Machine he came out of.

President elect Obama is completely in the clear here.
He doesn't have a dog in this fight. He is not and will not be implicated as a wrong doer here.
Jesse Jackson Jr being "outed" like this is political too. I am SO GLAD I am not involved in that mess!
It's a shame that some folks are going to continue to try to connect President elect Obama to that madness.
And just because someone in his camp may have had a conversation with Blagojevich, it still does not implicate that advisor or the President elect.
"That advisor" is Rahm Emanuel, BO's CHIEF of STAFF! He's not some second rate player in the transition team. If everythying is so crystal clear, why not just come right out and say so? At the least, there is the perception that we are not getting the full story. If this is how this admin is going to deal with the occasional controversies, then they will have a long four years ahead of them.
If anything could ever be learned from Nixon and Watergate, Reagan and Iran-Contra, and Clinton and his 100-gates is that straight up answers, full disclosure, and complete transparency is the way to foster trust and confidence from the American people. Anytime stories don't match, someone says "I don't recall", someone says "I misspoke", contradictions and dodging and weaving exist, the perception is that there is something to hide.
Just give the full truth, it may cost you a little in the beginning, but the reward for the trust that is earned is far worth it in the long run.
Obama has not answered the questions about RE and his involvment with Blago's people. BO is lucky that the media are going easy on him. The NY Times ran a front page article on how Obama "stirs hope" in people today.
If this was John McCain as president-elect and the Governor of Arizona was connected to him like Blago is with BO, these guys (the media) would be salivating like hyenas on a dead carcass. They would beat this drum for a good year until someone went to jail. They went after Karl Rove and Dick Cheney on the Valerie Plame ordeal and wouldn't let it die until Scooter Libby went to jail for lying under oath in the process of eventually clearing both Rove and Cheney for wrongdoing in the case. Richard Armitage eventually was fingered as the leaker and nothing was done b/c he was a liberal leaning Washington insider.
BO is lucky to have the media in the tank for him.

BO's team announced last Monday that they would have a full report for the public for his people's connection to all of this around Dec 23.
I said this before, BO's assertion that he didn't talk to Blago at all was in the context of the current scandal. IMO.
I don't think he meant that he actually did not talk to his Governor....
But it is clear that there are alot of folks looking to play "gotcha" politics with BO, just waiting for him to "mess up" so folks can say, "See I told you so."
The thing is, BO is keeping true to his promise of no more politics as usual. His Cabinet is diverse in more than one way.
He is taking MAJOR HEAT for inviting Rick Warren to do his invocation, but he isn't backing down from his promise an it is evident.

Sam I have to agree with you again. It's impossible to be connected to dirty people for years and not have some of it rub off on you. I pray for Obama that he will repent of his wicked ways and that it will be revealed if he is guilty of the things it appears he is guilty of.
