The Difference Between Prophecy and Prophesy

Remember this rule...

Prophecy (prah-feh-see)-this word has a c in it, thus making the pronunciation easy to remember (see-c).

Prophesy (prah-feh-si)-this word has a s in it. The ending is pronounced 'sigh'.

These two words are the most commonly misapplied words and it drives me crazy. Now that I've cleared it up for you, I feel better.

Learn this, and carry on!

Re: The Difference Between Prophecy and Prophesy

The key difference of course, is that one is a noun, the other a verb.

Prophecy.... Noun. She gave a prophecy in church yesterday.

Prophesy.... Verb. The anointing came on him and he began to prophesy.

Two words Pentecostals get confused. Righteousness and Righteousness

Go and learn the difference and your life will be changed.

Jesus is my Righteousness (1 Corinthians 1:30).
I have the Righteousness of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:21)

their
they're

They're going to put their coats in there.

Those drive me nuts! LOL
