What Does This Election Say About America?
Many pundits are saying that the US is moving left of center on the political landscape. I think they are wrong!
I believe America is still right of center but moving slightly towards the center.
Obama won this campaign because of a perfect political storm:
1. Americans tired of war
2. The economic free fall
3. Unpopular president of the opposing party
4. Unenergized Republican ticket
5. Biased media
If the Obama administration makes the mistake of instituting liberal policies assuming America is left of center, they will be voted out of office in the next election in a landslide.
I sincerely hope that Obama doesn't lean too much to the liberal extremists that supported him and gave him credence when his campaign was at the grass roots level.
A wrong economic policy can lead us from a recession to a depression.
A wrong domestic policy can lead us from a great country to one on the road to decay.
A wrong foreign policy could make us weaker and open to attack from our enemies.
America needs to pray that Obama has wisdom to make good decisions, without regard to extremists on both the liberal and conservative camps.

The timing for Obama was perfect. He got lucky.

I do NOT believe that Obama could have won so much as the democratic ticket if it were not for the suport of the liberal media.

Helped by the media, but also because America basically wants to be unified. Barack stayed under the radar by not engaging in too much controversy and that's how he won. The American people did not want to hear anything negative. Unfortunately, they will find out that it will cost them.

But Obama did sling some negatives.
It was because he was black that MANY voted for him. That is all I heard folks rejoicing over was his color; not his agenda! His was elected due to his color, not his agenda. It has all been more about his race than his agenda. Many don't even know what his agenda is.

Shows that in a Democracy, where people can choose leadership freely, they often choose wrongly.

Almost unanimous in interviews by African-American supporters of Obama after the election was the very first thing they mentioned. They never thought the day would come that a black man would be president! This shows that race was the first and foremost reason for their vote!
Yes, they supported his policies, but that was secondary.

He was never close to being as negative as McCain and Palin. I believe the American people were sick of that and because McCain would sling out accusations about Obama and then turn around and call him a good and decent man. That was a bit confusing to his supporters.
