Canadian Election Oct 14 2008

Canada goes to the polls on Oct 14 2008 to elect MP'S (Members of Parliament) in 308 ridings across Canada.
The member in any one riding who gets the majority of votes is the winner of the riding.
The party who has the most members elected across Canada gets to form the next Government.
The leader of the party that wins the most seats gets to be the next Prime Minister.

The magic number to form a Majority Government is 155 or more seats.
A party can form a Government with less seats if the vote is split with other parties.
That is called a minority Parliament.

We had that last time.

Pray for the Election that God would put in a Government that would be conducive to Revival & as much as possible enact proper laws.

Thanks.

God Bless!

Ron

The Parliamentary system has always been interesting to me.

That's for sure!
Actually they have already stopped.
By law in Canada, the ads must stop running on all media 48 hours prior to a general election.

On voting day there can be no advertising for any party at a polling station.

I am afraid we will end up with a Parliament that looks like the same one.

Canada (politically anyway) is very fractured.

We desperately need Revival!

It has it's pluses, but it also has it's drawbacks too!

Every system does.

I guess we work with what we got!
