Is There Anything Pres. Bush Did Right?

Why Don't We Hear This Part of the Bush "doctrine"?? Could it be
this is partly why he became so un-popular with some folks. Just
a thought!

Bush team, Congress negotiate 700-billion-dollar bailout
September 20, 2008 21:26 EDT

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Work continues on a massive government intervention plan to rescue financial institutions by buying up their bad assets.

Treasury officials met with congressional staffers for about two hours on Capitol Hill today. Discussions centered on how the 700-billion-dollar plan would work.

Democrats want to help more strapped borrowers stay in their homes and want to condition the bailout on new limits on pay for executives.

President Bush and Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson conferred by phone this afternoon, gauging how the negotiations were unfolding.

Among the key issues up for negotiation is which financial institutions would be eligible for the help. For instance, could hedge funds and pension funds qualify?

The White House is hoping for a deal by the time markets open Monday. Top lawmakers say they'll push to enact the plan in a matter of days.

As a point of interest: if you started counting now at the rate of one number a second, it would take you more than 31 years to reach a billion.

Have any ideal what this means to all of us???? Unbelievable. Now we, the taxpayers, get to protect the foreign fat cats and corporate moguls, by being stuck yet again with their bill too. We are doomed!

Bush is a politician, plain and simple. I'm not faulting him. I'm only calling it like it is.

Read this article from the Washington Post.

Women Closest to Bush Are Pro-Choice

By Ann Gerhart
Washington Post Staff Writer
Tuesday, July 19, 2005; 5:45 PM

During the 2000 presidential campaign, Barbara Bush said the Republican Party should drop an anti-abortion plank from its national platform.

"Listen to your mama," declared a radio ad aired at the time by an abortion-rights group. "That's a family value we can all agree on."Now, as President Bush readies to announce his choice for a Supreme Court justice, that ad remains one of the only direct references to a rarely-mentioned fact: The women closest to the president support abortion rights. His mother, his wife and one of his most trusted advisors, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, all have stated that they believe Roe v. Wade should not be overturned.

Bush hears daily from social conservatives who urge him to appoint a justice who firmly opposes abortion. If the women in his inner circle speak their minds on this subject in private, he may hear something different....

...Bush prefers to address the issue of abortion in thematic language, speaking of "a culture of life" or "changing hearts." In an interview with Danish television a few days after O'Connor's resignation, he said abortion remained "a genuine philosophical debate, a debate amongst good people -- good, decent, honorable, patriotic Americans who have a difference of opinion."

He said he had "always believed" that abortion "ought to be illegal with the exception of rape, incest, or life of the mother." Then he added, "But look, I'm a realist as well."

The SCOTUS stopped the THIRD recount of votes(set for only the most heavily Dim counties in FL) after the first TWO had shown Bush as the winner. That is the biggest piece of malarkey the Dims have tried to hold onto ever since 2000, and no one but nut jobs are buying it.

If Osama..oops Obama wins, and as a result any abortion law is expanded, and one single child is murdered that wouldn't have been otherwise, all those who vote for Barack Hussein Osama Bin Laden Obama al-Chicago will have that little baby's blood on their hands. I don't care if Obama was promising me a golden egg laying goose and could back it up with an ironclad guarantee, and McCain promised to take my house and give it to Bill Gates, I can not and will not ever vote for a pro-death candidate. Obama personally killed a bill in Illinois that would give "personhood" protection to babies who survived botched abortions, saying it might "undermine" the supreme god of the Dimocratic party, the almighty Roe v Wade. He has proven by his actions and his associations that he is a sick and pathetic excuse for a member of the human race, let alone unfit for office.

So is that your professional or Christian opinion of me?
