Elizabeth Payne, 37, said she had a steamy sexual affair with the controversial, racially divisive man of the cloth while she was an executive assistant at a church headed by a popular Wright protégé.
When word of the unholy alliance got out, Payne's husband dumped her, and she was canned from the plum job at Friendship-West Baptist Church, she told The Post.
"I was involved with Rev. Wright, and that's why I lost my job and why my husband divorced me," Payne said.

Wow! That's certainly an interesting article. My only question is how does this connect to Senator Obama? Was he aware of this affair? (Certainly wonder though about his knowledge about Wright having stolen the wife of another man in the 80's. He MUST have known about that and followed this guy anyway)
Has anyone bothered to find anything out about the scandals that McCains former pastors along the way may have been involved in. I mean, SURELY there must be some, don't you think?
My honest opinion is that in most denominational churches people are not as intimately involved or aware of their pastors lives or even opinions. Sad but true.
I grew up in a denomination where we honestly could have cared less as pastors were a dime a dozen and came and went. Granted in Wrights case he certainly was NOT one of those kinds of pastors nor did he tend toward shyness in revealing his innermost thinking on virtually any subject from the pulpit.
Well .... think we will hear anymore about THIS????
p.s. Interesting that the husband and perhaps the pastor seem to be more outraged by the fact that this woman had an affair with a BLACK man rather than that she had an affair!
