Sarah Palin, Todd Bentley, and Dominion Theology
I am NOT into politics. As an Apostolic, my leader is not Republican, Democrat, or Independent, but is the King of kings, Jesus Christ. But yesterday something came to my attention that I could not allow to go unsaid.
John McCain choosing Sarah Palin for his Vice President running mate has caused quite a stir. Questions immediately arose about her political experience (or inexperience), and also regarding the time a mother of five could actually devote to such an office. But the issue that’s just now surfacing concerns the degree to which her “Pentecostal” background might affect her political decisions and policies. The news I unburied is a frightening testimony as to why this question must be of major concern to those reading this.
Barak Obama attended Trinity United Church of Christ on Chicago's south side for 20 year. During that time, the teachings of his pastor, Rev. Jeremiah Wright, had to have made an impact on his thinking. Anyone who would deny such a claim knows nothing of the influence a church’s doctrine has on a congregation’s thinking.
Sarah Palin has also been influenced by the ministry of her home church. Since the age of 12, Palin was raised in the one church, the Wasilla Assembly of God of Wasilla, Alaska. This is the church she attended while mayor of Wasilla, Alaska. It is the same church that she got her spiritual influence from until moving away after being elected Governor in November 2006. Even today, she still considers the Wasilla Assembly of God to be her home church. This must include her relating to their doctrinal stance. Anyone who claims a politician’s belief on prophecy and the “end time” doesn't affect their political views, needs to read the remainder of this…
On June 8, 2008, Sarah Pulin spoke at her home church, the Wasilla Assembly of God. During that speech she said:
"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God. That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's will." (Found approximately 5 minutes and 40 seconds into the VIDEO CLIP ON THIS WEBSITE) Did you catch that? Palin said that the Iraq war is “from God,” and that the soldiers fighting there “on a task from God.” Now I’m not going to get into the debate about whether or not a Christian can kill another human being, because that’s not the issue here. What we do need to see is that Sarah Palin believes the war being fought is a war “from God,” and that the men and women sent there are there to fight and die for God. Where would she get such a notion? How about from her home church in Wasilla, Alaska?
Since 1999, Rev. Ed Kalnins has been the senior pastor of Wasilla Assembly of God. Kalnins believes the 9/11 attacks and subsequent Iraqi war are part of a "world war" over the Christian faith. He preaches to the Wasilla Assembly of God congregation that Jesus Christ demands that they, and all other Christians, be willing to sacrifice their lives in this type war. Here is an example of this:
“What you see in a terrorist—that's called the invisible enemy. There has always been an invisible enemy. What you see in Iraq, basically, is a manifestation of what's going on in this unseen world called the spirit world. ... We need to think like Jesus thinks. We are in a time and a season of war, and we need to think like that. We need to develop that instinct. We need to develop as believers the instinct that we are at war, and that war is contending for your faith. ... Jesus called us to die. You're worried about getting hurt? He's called us to die. Listen, you know we can't even follow him unless you are willing to give up your life. ... I believe that Jesus himself operated from that position of war mode. Everyone say "war mode." Now you say, wait a minute Ed, he's like the good shepherd, he's loving all the time and he's kind all the time. Oh yes he is -- but I also believe that he had a part of his thoughts that knew that he was in a war” (READ HERE). So, there you go. Christians are called to fight in a physical war, which parallels an ongoing spiritual war. So much for the “weapons of our warfare" not being "carnal,” ehh? And then he says that the same Jesus who said we are to “love,” “bless,” and "pray for” our enemies was actually thinking that we should just kill them. Hmmm…that page of my Bible must be missing because I don’t remember ever reading Jesus say anything close to that, do you? The reason Pastor Kalnins can say that, is not because he has Bible, but because he preceded it with an “I also Believe.” And with the crowd the Wasilla Assembly of God runs in, many of which believe in the "New Word" doctrine of apostles and prophets, that’s all you'd need to make something like that “biblically” okay.
While looking to find what churches and preachers Palin's church associated with, I decided to look into something she mentioned during her June 8th appearance at the Wasilla Assembly of God church. On a couple occasions she referenced folks in the congregation as being a part of the “Master’s Commission.” I did a Google search and found there is a Bible school in Wasilla of that name and that they are a part of the Wasilla Assembly of God ( SEE HERE). They have a website which I went to. That site has an option “About Us.” The first choice on that page is entitled, “ About Alaska". Once there you'll see that the very first paragraph says:
“Alaska has a divine destiny that has been spoken about by many church leaders and prophetic leaders from all over the world such as Dutch Sheets, TODD BENTLY, Steve Thompson, Woody Woodson, and Dr. Cho just to name a few.” If a person can be found guilty by association, then the folks at this Wasilla school and church will be doing 20 to life! A Google search of the men they listed will turn up a mirage of teachings and doctrines that are contrary to what is found in the Bible. One of these is belief in Latter Rain and Dominion Theology. And let’s not forget the recent issues and controversy of Todd Bentley. Did you notice they have him second on their list of “church leaders and prophetic leaders”?
Now to Wikipedia; I know the concerns with accuracy of the source, but listed under “Dominion Theology,” in Wikipedia is this statement:
Dominion theology may be more nationally relevant in the US since Sarah Palin became John McCain's running mate as the Republican Party's 2008 vice presidential candidate. RECENT INVESTIGATIVE JOURNALISM SUGGESTS THAT SARAH PALIN IS A "DOMINIONIST STALKING HORSE"[1]. If John McCain is elected to become the 44th president of the United States and dies in his first term in office (with an actuarial probability of 13.8%[2]) then the 45th president of the United States (though not elected to that position) WOULD PROBABLY ACCEPT MAJOR ELEMENTS OF THIS THEOLOGICAL POSITION. That John McCain would nominate her indicates that, while not necessarily committed to the doctrines, the movement has his sympathies and he is seeking their financial and political support (SEE HERE). So there you go. John McCain chose a woman as his VP running mate who is tied to a church that teaches Dominion Theology, and who follows the teachings of men like Todd Bentley. If you do not know the implications of what this doctrine may do in the White House, then you really need to study the teachings of C Peter Wagner's group.
Think about it; do you really like the idea that a (so called) prophet's or apostle's prophecy may someday be used to send our troops into a physical war that was "chosen by God"? And like she said, Alaska is a state that God chose as a "refuge state" for the "last days" (Found approximately 10 minutes and 49 seconds into the VIDEO CLIP ON THIS WEBSITE). This shows that her prophetic views will dictate her political choices...and with the company she's used to keeping, that could become very scary!

Re: Sarah Palin, Todd Bentley, and Dominion Theolo
for one thing anyone can post anything on Wikipedia-
I do not believe for a minuet anyone is going to lead the country by prophetic words- thats a stretch indeed.
And of course they are going to try to find any little thing that looks out there linked to "her" church--come on if it made Obama look bad--they are going to try to play the same card with Palin.

You don't believe it, or you don't want to believe it??
I posted more than just Wikipedia. I even stated that I knew why it is not considered reliable. Did you really look at all I listed? I gave the video of her speaking at her church and also her church school's website. I only used Wikipedia to show that her position is becoming an issue.

I am sorry it is late, I will have to look at it all later-although I viewed the video earlier(it looks the same) and "word" she had was a scripture out of Ephesians.
Yeah I seriously doubt anyone could get away with running the country by prophesy.

Didn't Nancy Regan use an Astrologer?
Doesn't sound too far fetched Sis.

And don't forget about Ronald Reagan refusing to live in a house with the number, "666" Cloud Street.

The deal this, Christians can't get beyond the abortion issues! So they never look any deeper. Major reason we as a nation are in such bad shape, people need to look into all of what these mouth pieces are proclaiming, not just one issues!

Re: Sarah Palin, Todd Bentley, and Dominion Theolo
Couldn't it be said that all who want to enact legislation that would
outlaw abortion
establish a definition of marriage as between one man and one woman
require prayer in public schools
be considered proponents of dominion theology?
