Need A Church

Hey All,
I know it's been a long while since I have been on here. So much has changed! Cute hair and jeans now anyway...

We are having a hard time finding a church. We basically want Acts 2:38 and oneness, with the same modesty. My husband was an alcoholic before he was in church, so no alcohol is good, too. We have considered lately moving out of state because of all this. If there is a thread similar to this, let me know.

Love You All!

Re: Need A Church

You might check out Sandusky, Ohio (that's a plug for you, MOW).

But avoid Toledo like the plague cuz we don't have a church here that fits that description Or if there is, I wish someone would fill me in on it!

Sherri's church would fit the bill, wouldn't it? She's in Jackson (I believe) TN.

Re: Need A Church

I recommend Canterbury Cathedral. I was there two years ago and it was magnificent.

Canterbury can be a little rainy as but it is a neat little town. I had some great fish and chips while there and stayed at a cool little Bed & Breakfast.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

I am in St. Louis. We are talking about trying churches mainly in the midwest. If any of these churches have websites, let me know!

So, are you thinking of moving? If so, I'd recommend Sherri's church too!

South County Christian Church is in St. Louis.

Lead pastor is Shawn Craig (of the group Phillips,Craig & Dean) I know the admin pastor was raised UPC not sure about Shawn Craig. (Randy Phillips & Dan Dean are former UPC and I believe still oneness) Not sure about modesty or how they baptise. I'm sure they have awsome music- web address is: www.scccenter.com
