Bro. Roy Gatlin Sr. Passed away this morning

My grandfather, known throughout the South for his pioneer work in Pentecost passed away this morning at 6:30.. Very few on this board will remember him. those that do. please pray for his surviving family

Today I made plans to drive to Port Arthur to visit him once more until this bit of news came.

I am so glad that I made a special trip to Port Arthur years ago to deal with his soul. I can only trust that he made it. He was a great inspiration to me on one very occassion.

I will be leaving today to sing at his funeral at his wifes request. My heart is saddened so many mixed emotions. I thank you for your kind words

The truth is, Roy Gatlin was her first true love. I'm not sure that the heartache, the pain, the divorce and remarriage to bro. Marvin ever caused that love to die completely. I knew sister Lois tooooo well. But, I suppose some words are better left upspoken, though I could speak a lot.

Which of Sis. Lois' children is your parent?

Sis. Alvear, I am happy to say that he had been a faithful member of a small Jesus Name church in the area, his Pastor will be preaching the funeral. I will take pics of the services.

I am told he died peacefully in his rest.
