In my opinion, cons, libs,ultra-cons, ultra-libs, mods, or whatever are just terms we use.
As Eld. Epley has said (might not be quoted word for word but I trust I've conveyed the spirit of what he said)
Every one is somebody's conservative and everyone is somebody's liberal.
In my opinion, whatever label we use, maybe just to pigeon-hole or maybe to put down, all who acknowledge Jesus as Lord and submit to Him are in the Body of Christ, and, just as there is in a human body, there is great diversity among the members of the Body of Christ.

Philosophically, cons are anchors and libs are rudders.
Cons find a secure place and don't move while the current passes by.
Libs use the current to move on down the river, but must use wisdom to guide the path to stay away from harmful obstacles.
But we can't all continue to be in the same boat or the libs will get totally frustrated when the boat won't move because the cons are anchoring it. So.....the libs have to rent another boat and jump overboard and swim to it so they can take off once again down the river. Then everyone lives happily ever after.
