One-Steppers: Leading folks to Christ

How do you lead someone to Christ?

Do you have them pray a sinner's prayer?

What specifically do you tell them at a one-stepper altar?

Are there any scriptures that you take them to in the Bible?

Also, do you teach them that their is a Baptism of the Holy Ghost available now that they have repented and been born again?

I am just curious.

I grew up in an environment that if someone "got saved", and that term was never used, they followed all three steps. Then they better make sure they didn't mess up or hell fire followed.

We told people to repent and be baptized. Then seek for the baptism of the Holy Ghost and speak in tongues.

Another thing, I haven't had much experience working in altars because I have played guitar for the last thirteen years in church. I basically stayed away from the altar at my old UPC because it made me nervous.

Our band played at an AOG church last year and they had one of the most powerful altar calls I have ever experienced but I didn't know what they were telling the folks that came up for prayer.

Luke, I have not heard either preach on a tape but both were powerful Apostlic PCI men.

my suggestion for DG is to do some research on what those guy preached. it would be helpfull


and I suspect he will find that neither led anyone in a sinners prayer.

I am just asking the question. How do one-steppers do it?

Do you not lead folks through a prayer of repentance if they come to the altar at your church? There are many three-steppers that I know that lead folks in a "sinners prayer" type prayer.
