AMISH ACRES in Nappanee, IN

My husband and I may be going to IN in the next few weeks. No offense to anyone from IN, but that state never seemed to have many areas of interest as far as tourist attractions....Someone gave me a brochure about "Amish Acres" and I just read a little about it online. What about churches in the Nappanee area and the Elkhart area???

Has anyone been to "Amish Acres"?....If so, tell me about your experiences!..What about the restaurant and the musical theatre?

Here is the link:

http://www.amishacres.com/musical_theatre.html

Thanks!

Have been there several times.
The food is amazing! Good Amish cooking. Served family style. And the shows there have always been wonderful. Last time I was there I saw, "Annie." Very enjoyable evening. And you are right..there aren't too many points of interest in Indiana. Guess that is why I didn't last too long as a Hoosier.

Is the land around that area of Indiana mostly flat land??...I haven't been to IN since I was a child.

YES!!! Extremely flat. Cornfields and soybean fields. And then MORE cornfields. Not much in the scenery department, but the food in that area sure can't be beat!! Also, the Amish crafts are everywhere, so if you like quilts and jams, it has lots of shopping.

I saw the old steel mill in Gary, In. Now that was a relic. Go south toward the river if you want to see hill country and forests.

HAHA! And did you just observe that from your car? I have never been one brave enough to actually STOP in Gary.
