This morning I was so blessed
I know I saw a miracle today...I am blessed and rejoicing...
Since Brother Alvear is not here, much of the load is on my shoulders and today we had a preachers and officers meeting...there were about 70 of us and most of you know we work with the very poor.
I always try to cook for them because they come from other villages and it is hard for them to get here let alne try to bring food. I had got them together this week and told them I did not have anything to cook this time and told them to bring whatever they could. I know many of them have nothing so I did not even sleep worried however someone brought a bowl of rice, another sister killed her chicken and cooked it, my daughter in law cooked some spaghetti, someone brought a bowl of peas and a brother gave us some wieners that we mixed with the spaghetti...
They will spend the rest of the day here and only go home after church..some will only get home around 11 tonight! There will be no supper...
I had some Kool-Aid someone from the states someone sent and I honestly do not know how except I know we saw a miracle Lord...
We prayed over our food that God would make it enough and everyone ate...
I did not tell anyone I did not have money for our bus to go pick up our people this afternoon except I called 2 sisters in my bedroom and told them to go around the neighborhood to try o sell a few things I gathered up…almost an impossibility on Sunday...But in minutes they were back with enough money to put fuel in the bus for service…
God is really teaching us and our people how to lean on HIM for everything…
Dear ones, this is just our way of life here…( DO NOT FEEL SORRY FOR US WE ARE BLESSED BY TRUSTING) however I was thinking what if all those prophecy teachers are wrong and America has to go through the mark of the beast.
Will we have learned to trust HIM for everything?

Re: This morning I was so blessed
This should probably make some of us in America ashamed.

Re: This morning I was so blessed
we are learning to trust like never before...
The dollar is the lowest it has been in Brazil since 1999...
I sat in a little meeting with some of our ladies and they were talking about not having money to buy beans...rice and beans are our main food here...many are just buying rice.
Each week our ladies we go and share at some sister´s home...I took a picture of their table yesterday...I will put it on here later...I wept...the poverty is so great among our people.

Re: This morning I was so blessed
Today in service I just mentioned we needed money to pay the church light bill and I could not help them. One of the brothers jumped up and went row by row asking for money and people literally gave every penny they had so that we could pay our lights. Most gave their bread money...I wept though it all to see there great love.

Re: This morning I was so blessed
Our people have never seen us without enough food...they are so afraid we will leave them but we are not leaving. We plan to come out of this trial praising the Lord.

Re: This morning I was so blessed
Sherri, I know you all stretch far beyond your means I just like to share these experiences for our American brothers and sisters to know things are not easy in other lands. I know things are tight there in the states also but most (not all) Americans have no earthly idea how many of our precious brothers and sisters live in faraway lands. I am very blessed...I have a nice home, a wonderful bed and am surrounded by many wonderful people. (Like all churches we have a few headaches) but for the most part our people are so good. They KNOW I would never ask them I would rather give... they come to my home and get anything they need but they themselves have found no food, empty fridge and empty shelves...
They have been so afraid we would leave them but I told them we are not leaving we are just going through a time we have never been through...without food yes...but many other things that I am not free to mention on a public board are involved...however we will make it.
I once heard Brother Larry Phillips say that he went one year without feeling the presence of the Lord and he went into the church and told God, if he never felt His presence again He would still serve Him...(he came through with great victory)
We too will come through. Only the weak turn back in the day of battle…
I will pm you later today…
Love you and your burden for missions. I wish a million dollar blessing your way and many more!
