Did the Great Flood Cover the Whole Earth?
Did the Great Flood Cover the Whole Earth?
Or did it cover the known world of Noah's day?

Some Science would say that Noah's area was the whole world to them in those days... and I have seen some documentaries that support that say science supports that theory....

Re: Did the Great Flood Cover the Whole Earth?
One of the main questions is if the earth was covered with water where did it go? if you made the earth the same level....as in make the mountains and valleys the same level the earth would be covered with one and a half to two miles of water. so in conjunction with the flood the earth could have gone through massive changes.

Iowa ? Is there any dry land in Iowa??
We took another 5.5 inches of rain Thursday night...which had me sucking water out of the church basement sunday school room carpets all day Friday.
Is it the great flood again??? People in Cedar Rapides IA think so.

Depends if you believe the Bible.
Gen 8:9
9 But the dove found no rest for the sole of her foot, and she returned unto him into the ark, for the waters were on the face of the whole earth: then he put forth his hand, and took her, and pulled her in unto him into the ark.
KJV

But my brother, don't you think it could have meant the whole earth that Noah could see?

I say it covered the whole earth. I also believe that we use to live on one great continent. They were split afterwards.

No real problem exists over the use of "The Name" in everthing else done in the Church. Why then should there exist great controversy over the use of the "The Name of the Godhead" in water baptism?

Re: Did the Great Flood Cover the Whole Earth?
I have another thought concerning the ark.
Isn't it odd that the Ark was both a method of salvation, and a tool that carried sin from the old world to the new?

Re: Did the Great Flood Cover the Whole Earth?
Honestly...I don't know. I try to believe the Bible, but my mind just cannot comprehend every square inch of dry land (including Mt. Everest) being completely submerged by water. I tend to believe the "whole earth" was the earth as it was known in Noahs day. But, I really don't know.
