Sunday School

I am considering doing something different with our current Sunday School layout. We are currently pretty traditional. How are you're services laid out? Any ideas or thoughts are welcome.
I am about to start another class for the smaller children 1-5, and then having children's church at our normal worship service time, utilyzing and rotating some of our young people to handle it in another small building (trying not to kill our service attendance and worship). We already have a youth class in a room and 1st - 4th grade class in a room, and our adult class in the sanctuary. We don't have any more rooms to utylize but i need to do something with our adult SS class. I am wondering what some of you do in your adult SS class.

Re: Sunday School

I hardly ever get to SS class, am trying to make it to worship service as much as I can.

Re: Sunday School

At my church, Sunday School for adults is taught at the same time as the kids classes 30 min prior to Worship service on Sunday.. we have afternoon service. It is taught by the Bishop (retired former pastor) or one of the ministry staff. Pastor doesn't teach Sunday School...don't think I've ever seen him in that part of service.

I guess our Sunday school is the average.

My brother who pastors has his Sunday school on WED evenings now.... he teaches, the kids classes are taught at same time and then there is a break of about 10 min or so... then they all come together for a time of worship and praise before dismissing. I really like this service.

It is on WEd night now because he has one service on Sunday that is evangistic with no classes.

I never went to SS class either but now Choir practice is before it... so I find myself there more often.

Re: Sunday School

Bless you ladies,
sounds like one couldn't go and one just didn't go. What in the service would inspire you to want to try really hard to go (if you were physically able).

Well I love all the congregational people, but our new pastor's wife is the SS teacher and she is awesome, I will try to get to SS as often as possible.

At our church from 10:00-10:40 we have ss everyone goes to class and the adults stay inside and one of our ministers teach a lesson then at 10:45 we have church. we have done this for about 8 or 9 months and its much better then the traditonal way.
