This is the story about a 13 yr old girl from my daughter's school who was killed yesterday while on her way to school. Her 16 yr old brother was driving too fast and missed a curve, hitting a tree. According to the article above, he's in the hospital, but tonight we got word that he was brain dead and they took him off life support.
LadyRev's husband works with the parents. They apparently have one younger child in elementary school who was not in the accident.
This is a small community and it's being rocked.

Thanks. If you go to the main page, the picture of the car is there. I spoke to a woman today who works by the fire dept and they told her that the boy wasn't breathing when they arrived on scene and he was wrapped around the tree. The girl was breathing but died before reaching the hospital.
I had a long talk with my son who will be 17 in two weeks but isn't driving yet about the consequences of stupidity. He was hearing me, but I hope he was listening.

I wish I hadn't looked at that picture. Nauseating.
The rules are changing here, soon you will have to be 18 before you can even get your beginners... I'm so thankful. Should the Lord tarry, I want my boys to have to wait as long as possible.
I pray LadyRev can be a comfort to her co-worker.

Her husband is who works with them.
After this, I don't think I'll allow my daughter in the same vehicle with my son. He's also not going to be allowed to drive any friends around.
He's not taken driver's ed yet anyway. He doesn't like it, but he's waiting a bit longer.
