After Death, do we have a second chance?

Someone told me that after death, we will have a second chance to repent. Anyone ever heard this?

Yes we hear it a lot but with no Biblical backing.

I heard of it but DO NOT believe it.

Jehovah's witnesses believe in it.

I had never heard of having a second chance until today. I thought maybe I was missing something. I just couldn't imagine after death, how it would be possible to have a second chance to repent.

Mormons believe it also...in fact it is a great way to mess them up if you are ever talking to them. Just ask them, "if I don't become a Mormon what will happen to me?"

There response will typically be that you will go to a place where Mormon Missionaries will speak teach you the principles of Mormon and you will have the opportunity to accept it then.

I then tell them my believe of an eternal hell and then point out that if I am wrong I will have another opportunity and if they are wrong they are in big trouble.

It's a lot of fun

It is not about chances, God is the first cause, He established the earth and He had a plan from the beginning.

The curse that came upon ALL mankind by Adam's disobedience, was completely reversed by the obedience of the Son of God. This was not plan B, it was God's plan A, He didn't lose control to the devil, He set it up for man to experience good and evil that His character and perfect will be made manifest.

Romans 5:18-19 (King James Version)

18Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life.

19For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

All have been reconciled to God, all have not YET entered into the provision that God has paid for in Christ.

I love doing this, it's hilarious! I just tell them I'll wait until I get there.

Re: After Death, do we have a second chance?

Well, I guess I have it covered from all aspects! My great aunt was Mormon and she was baptized for her dead husband AND then did a family tree of sorts and all of our names are in the archives in Salt Lake City.

See you guys on the other side! Either way!

Beth
