I was reading through the Tithes tread and saw this post by freeatlast.

I really don't think any one can make a valid argument for tithes in the NT church.
Charitable giving and support for the thngs of God , yes but tithes, no
Shoot, they didn't do a monetary tithe in the old testament on a yearly basis as we do.

We quit "passing the plate" several years ago and our giving has also gone up.
Instead of the preacher "taking" an offering the saints just "give".
We will occasionally put the offering plates on the communion table for a special offering and we just put it in after church.
Do any other churches do this?
