Losing This Generation-Politics

More and more or should I say less and less people vote, especially young people. They are tired of the politics and the politicians. While the politicians make a lot of promises and talk a lot about integrity the rest of society don't believe them and see a lack of integrity. They are tired of the fighting, the lack of good candidates the division and partisan bickering.....

I wonder if that is why the church can't seem to reach the masses of unchurched young people...compared to how many are unchurched and yet believe in God our record stinks. They say the church is full of control freaks, hypocrites and manipulators. They see the politics and fighting for power. They are sick of the finger pointing and blame game going around. Nobody stands up and just accepts responsiblity rather than just passing the buck on to someone else...

Sounds like Pentecost....

  4. That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
  5. That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
  6. The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Quite the cynical post there, Brother Praxeas.

Not to mention it's a load of hogwash.

Have you been following Obama's campaign?

Young people are gaga over the guy.

Young people are in the church too....not enough of them. Still voters are down as usual and have been for a long time. If you talk to the people that just don't vote anymore or don't know if they will this time they will tell just how sick of politics they are. They are tired of the fighting, the disunity, the mud slinging, the lack of quality candidates...they are tired of partisan politics. It's not hogwash at all.

Re: Losing This Generation-Politics

This is a bunch of bunk Praxeas. The youth are lining up to vote in record numbers. Time Magazine did an article on this titled, Year of the Youth Vote:

http://www.time.com/time/politics/ar...708570,00.html

There are also countless articles on the internet on this growing demographic. You'll find plenty of articles on this all over the internet.

http://media.www.thebatt.com/media/s...-3190772.shtml

http://www.latimes.com/news/local/la...,1459190.story

The youth vote is expected to be very important in this upcoming election. Overall they are expecting record number of voters, higher than 2004, which also reported what was then some of the highest numbers of voters.

Who told you the youth weren't voting and that voter numbers were down?

No one told him so.

He was just kinda grumpy and needed something to vent about.

Obama is going to change all that apathy this year as millions of young people respond to his clarion call for "hope" and "change".*

*This assumes he will be able to continue with the smoke and mirrors for the next nine months and never has to actually articulate just exactly what "hope" or "change" he is going to bring and how much it is going to cost.

Some clever folks who follow this more closely have kept a tally and Mrs Bill Clinton has pledged new spending programs that are estimated to total $2 trillion and Mr. Barack Hussein Obama has mentioned things that tally to $3 trillion.

And they're just warming up!
