She will prove them wrong by being a good Christian example. I know it's bad now, but next week, someone else will be the big news. Teenagers are just wacko and love to hurt each other. This too shall pass.

First of all, I would recommend that you don't put this kind of thing on the internet.
Kids are cruel to each other. Sometimes ignoring this kind of thing works best. The more you stir a stink, the worse it smells. Sometimes it's best to walk away and don't protest too much as it might possibly bring credibility to the rumor. By no means am I saying there is a case for credibility to the rumors. If they become too widespread, you might go to the school officials or confront the parents of the students.
PO is right, though...it's like the new "moron" or "idiot." Now the ante has been upped--it's the "b" word, slut, whore, gay, etc.
When my children get their feelings hurt, I remind them that only stupid people say things like that, and they shouldn't care what stupid people think. (of course, they do, but it makes them feel better to hear me call those kids "stupid" ) Then I ask them who their "real" friends are. When they answer, these are the kids I invite over to spend the night, etc.
Also, responses only tend to egg on the brats, so the best thing your daughter can do (if possible) is to act like she isn't even affected, to walk off, and at the risk of sounding heartless--to NEVER let them see her cry about it.
If it keeps up for any length of time, then I would visit with her teachers and the principal.

It's not always easy. I know exactly what my husband's reaction would be if someone were saying those things about one of our daughters. He'd want to rearrange their face.
