Suggestions for a New Orleans Weekend Trip

I've got the travelling itch. Haven't been anywhere in a few months and I'm
ready to hit the road.
I've never been to New Orleans and have thought about making a short
excursion there. Of course New Orleans is famous for it's food among other
things. What restaraunts would you recommend? I would really like to eat
some good cajun food. Some gumbo sounds really good.
Also, if I stayed over on a Sunday, what churches in the New Orleans or
Southern Mississippi area would you recommend.

Have they opened a lot of places up yet Bro. Epley? You might want to email or call the Chamber of Commerce there Hesetmefree. Phil Jones might know, as well.

I can't remember if it is called Two Sisters or Three Sisters, but they have good cajun food.

There is another place but I can't recall the name of it right now, but the line is always long ways around the building.

The Cafe Du Monde for beignets and hot chocolate....or coffee

PS. Make sure you know where you are going. Some areas are unsafe to say the least.

Since Katrina things have really changed there. I know they tried to get the bigger restraunts and tourist attractions open. We still have a lot of folks here in East TX. from New Orleans. Now of course Emeril's place would have cajun food. I haven't been to Mississippi in years. Still if you are going to the coast region they too were affected a lot by Katrina. Not sure about churches, are you looking for UPCI churches?

I will be traveling from West TN, so I will be going through Mississippi. So any
church in the Southern Mississippi or New Orleans area might be doable.
