http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxhEyKhNOwA

I heard about this a couple of weeks ago and I was so amazed and mad at the same time....... This is where I think competitive sports are wrong.....I am sure the dad just got caught up in the moment, but this was just too overboard...................it is wrong how people get soooooo caught up in it...

As with many other things I would not be interested in calling sports a sin (as you would probably agree... ) but I do think that some men have WAY too much emphasis on sports. Of course, being a man who is not interested in sports in the least, I may be somewhat biased.

I see wives being neglected, children being neglected and many other things falling by the wayside because of some men's overwhelming obsession with sports.

There is a lot of preaching about moderation in a lot of things and sports is something that should be touched on more than it is.

While, as I previously stated, I don't see writing sports as a whole off as a sin being an answer I do see where sports feeds the primal nature of men (and some women alike). It does bring out the most gutteral and primal instincts which would tend to be contrary to what God wants to bring out in us IMO.

Good natured sports between friends can be enjoyed without any major attitude issues... I want to be sure and recognize that.

But... I think that moderation in this area would improve the lives of the individual and many around them.

Right! I think a little competition is healthy....It's good to know the thrill of victory, and it is good to know how to deal with defeat.....But when become consumed with it (lagirl....... ......just teasing friend) and you don't know how to handle defeat, you are in for a long, rough road.....For those who don't know how to lose, you are in for a rough ride....

She shows idle on Yahoo Messenger... we appear to be safe for the moment.

I fear we may suffer a similar fate as the young wrestler in the video.
