First of all, I want to say that I enjoy creative, interpretive dance. I have been deeply moved on so many occasions while watching interpretive dance in worship.

However, I wondered as I watched this if an apology has been given to churches like Smythe Street Cathedral who have been criticized for years for having interpretive dance as part of their worship service. The difference that I observe is that the UPC churches tend to like songs that are more of a rock and roll style that has lots of energy, whereas most creative dance I have seen is slower and tend to have more elegant, professional dance routines. Perhaps that will come as this ministry develops.

I applaud CCC for introducing interpretive dance to their worship. Dance was intended to be very much a part of our worship of God. I don't believe the dance mentioned in scripture is what most Pentecostal churches have and call "shockamoo". God is a creative and orderly God, not one of chaos and confusion.

There's my ramblings for the day.

I didn't think it was wild either. Looked like a pretty "normal" spirit filled youth group service to me!

It looked normal to me, too. Maybe he put the caution for the Baptists.

Cool, whoever owes them an apology should get right on that. I know I don't owe them anything, I have never criticized them publicly nor in private. I know my Pastors haven't and our worship team as well. In fact, on radio, I have gone out of my way to promote their church including events AND I also taught them a choir clinic.

If apologies are to be thrown around to people who are criticized for doing things different, then I am expecting one too
