I had my thread in the prayer section, but wanted to express my appreciation here in the main area of this wonderful place.

It is finished. Dad will be buried in a plot near the entrance to the cemetery later today. We had a memorial service in one of the shelter areas this morning. The military honors were exceptional. VA did wrong because they double booked the funerals, and Bro. Barley only had 15 minutes to speak. He did wonderfully.

I turn to my left and see a symbol of what my Dad loved, the USA flag that was draped over his coffin. We also have the shells from the 21 gun salute. Thank God for the VFW.

I had Bro. James Griffin there, what a wonderful man. Also had Bro. Alicea there. Lovely men. A couple of other church members were there as well. IT was nice...

But, I broke. I kissed the coffin and broke down. Pastor had to help me.

Thank you all for the prayers and the love shown. Pray for us. Now, Mom has to get used to life without Dad, and I have to deal with life without one of my closest friends and confidants.
