Pulpits

Does anyone here go to a church without a pulpit? Are any of your churches untraditionally set up, where there is a small or non-existent platform, no big chairs on the platform, a simple table or music stand for the preacher to lay his notes, and the congregation sitting in an almost circular kind of way? I've just discovered this way of doing things, and I'm really being blessed by being apart of it. It feels very apostolic.

GOD BLESS!

We have a small, raised platform, and a rostrum They have the "throne chairs".

When I was preaching, I hated sittin on those "throne chairs". Usually I wouldn't sit on 'em. Most of the time I sat on a folding chair or something. Never liked the throne chairs. I know they are "positions of honor" for the preachers. I guess thats why I most always refused to sit in them. I always felt I was a "servant" of the church and didn't feel quite comfotable sitting in "a place of honor" when everyone else was sitting in a folding chair or on a pew. But, hey, thats just me.

Our pastor doesn't use a pulpit and we watch our sermons on a video screen.

My preacher uses a music stand. But the whole church is portable.

Right now we use whatever the church we're renting has set up. When we were meeting in clubhouses for midweek services, Pastor brought a music stand with him.

Here is ours, we use a pulpit rarely, we now use just a simple music stand. (This pic is taken before a service that is why it looks empty, hehe)
