Why did Paul not Rebuke Wine use at Communion?

Paul had strong words for the overindulgent Corinthians. Why did he not rebuke them for using "crazy drink"?

20When you come together, it is not the Lord's Supper you eat, 21for as you eat, each of you goes ahead without waiting for anybody else. One remains hungry, another gets drunk. 22Don't you have homes to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you for this? Certainly not!

Why did'nt Paul rebuke them for alcoholic wine use at Communion when he clearly knew about it?

I suggest to all those who want to find a fresh new sweet wine to either get a small winepress or crush the grapes in a cuisinart machine or blender, and let it drain through a cloth, put in a bottle and refrigerate over night, the next morning you will have the most delicious and sweetest NEW – SWEET-WINE for your Communion Service, and nobody, especially not our LORD JESUS CHRIST will be offended. That's new wine...

I personally like to stick to the real new wine though...

Acts 2:15

Because there is a difference between alcohol use and abuse.

This wasn't the only time that Paul endorsed that which Jesus made out of water.

What should one do when fresh grapes are not available year round as they are today due to the global transport system? And when refrigeration is not available as in the case of of the New Testament church?

The only way to preserve the fruit of the vine from spoilage under such circumstances was to allow it to ferment and then mix it with water to dilute its potency when served.

The Bible seems to talk about the fruit of the vine at communion which isn't necessarily alcoholic, however, Paul does say to Timothy to drink no longer water but wine for his stomach's sake. Alcohol isn't prohibited scripturally as far as I can see. But drunkenness is.

Oh, Grasshopper! It is not the USE of the wine that Paul had a problem with. It was the ABUSE of the "nectar" that Paul was rebuking. The Bible NEVER condemns the use of wine. It always condemns the abuse of wine. Biblically, wine was not forbidden. However, drunkenness and the debauchery associated with it were always condemned.

I cannot, as an honest minister of the gospel, standing on the plain words of the Bible, prohibit the consumption of wine. In all actuality, I can prohibit it with MY words, but not with God's words.

Everyone has a right and a duty to follow their own convictions. But we cannot preach our convictions as God's word. It is a VERY dangerous thing to mess with God's word.
