This is a little bit long, but I know you'll like it if you have some time. Check it out

I'm not sure how to embed youtube things on here, so if someone can help me out, I'll appreciate it.

That's cute Margie!

I can remember being terrified I'd have to go too when I first got in the church!

Re: Please Don't Send Me to Africa

Sherri, I thought of you and Sandra both when I heard this. I had to laugh at the song because you know it's not meant to be serious.

but at the same time, I had visions of you two standing in line in front of God while the rest of us begged Him not to send us to Africa, you had your hands up in the air, jumping up and down trying to get His attention, calling out to Him, "Send me in their place! Send me in their place!"

That's just how I see you. With a true servant's heart

Oh, that's so sweet, and yes that would be me begging to go over and over and over again, while I'm dragging Eddie along behind me, kicking and screaming. LOL!!

Please pray for us; we leave for Kenya in 9 days!

I definately will pray, Sherri.

Want to hear a funny thing? When I was a little kid and people would ask what we wanted to be when we grew up, all of the other kids wanted to be policemen or firemen or teachers or nurses. I wanted to be a missionary to Africa. Sierra Leone in particular. I just KNEW that was what I was going to do with my life.

I've never been to Africa, but I pray all the time for the missionaries who are serving there - by name if I know them or just generically if not.

In high school, my best friend and I used to always joke about ending up in Africa. She would send me letters with African pictures all over the envelope, etc. When I started dating Eddie, and she found out he was from Africa, she just knew that I would end up over there after all! But the missions gene jumped right over him and onto my daughter. LOL!
