Hey Bro, I would never laugh at anyone who attends an independent church.
What's wrong with independent churches? People make me so mad with this junk!

When I attended Gateway, an instructor made the following statement in a theology class. He said "Personally, I am wary of anyone who pastors or attends an independent church". He went on to explain that everyone needed authority in their lives, and independent pastors were by and large rebellious, and anti-authority.

Needless to say, I got in big trouble for expressing a huge amount of disagreement with him. I think most independent brothers surround themselves with spiritual authority figures. When they don't, they fail miserably.

Don't ever put up with anyone dissing your church like that man! We're all in this together!

PP,

the wise ones WITH a card do the same as the GIB... they surround themselves with Godly men they can trust and be accountable to.

I believe NYLP was the one that first scoffed at Neck's comment... so... ask him what he meant by it.

You are absolutely right. I have many several mentors that I rely on for wisdom in tough situations. It's good to have guiderails. They keep me from going in the ditch.

I agree. Mentors are needed.

More people in the church need mentors.

I think this is a good area that woman can be used in the church. They should be mentoring the young ladies in spritual things as well as practical things.

Hold them accountable when they begin dating and teach them how to be a lady!

Mentors are great, mentors are good,
let us thank them for our food.
Amen.
