Is the right trying to make it impossible to be a black conservative or black GOP supporter? For the life of me, I don't see why Rush Limbaugh (perhaps the most influential voice in the party) insists on calling President Obama a little boy. That does not play well with many people of many races, but particularly black people of all political, cultural, and moral views. I don't see the point of party voices gratuitously playing into this view of the right.
Those statements are getting a lot of attention now.

I hope thats not the case. Rush is usually right on when it comes to politics, but he has been known to not have good speaking ethics.

Stew,
Rush is right. Obama is acting like a little boy and he is embarrassing, IMO.
There are a number of black conservatives who are running for office this year and speaking out about who has been keeping them down - it isn't the Republican Party.
I follow a number of black writers because this is something that does interest me. I want to know how they feel. We are still, IMO, on a rebuilding stage after slavery. We can say we have come a long way, but we can't say we have totally walked away from prejudice.
That doesn't mean that I think the Republican Party is perfect either, just for the record.

But PO, surely you know the LOADED content of using the word "Boy" in his discussions of the President. I remember the day when I listened to everything he had to say. I no longer listen to a word he says. It's sickening.

Well, I guess I don't understand the "loaded" content of the use of "boy". I don't listen to his program. I do catch clips on some topics. He isn't always wrong you know. LOL!
Do you mean using "boy" as calling for the black servant? Which would be actually calling him the "N' Word?

Race
Historically, in countries such as the U.S. and South Africa, "boy" was not only a 'neutral' term for domestics but also used as a disparaging racist insult towards men of colour (especially of African descent), recalling their subservient status even after the 20th century legal emancipation (from slavery, evolved to race segregation, viz. Apartheid) and alleged infantility, and many still consider it offensive in that context to this day since it denotes that men of colour (especially of African descent) are less than men or no better than an animal. For example a simple command for a dog would be, "Come here boy!"

Thanks. I thought I heard Rush, at some time, talk about how childish Obama is. So, that's what I thought this was about. Of which, I do agree. I won't comment further because I can't stand the man and I hope he doesn't get re-elected. He has caused more racial division than Al Sharpton, I believe.
