Re: Today's message at my church- Judgment is comi
I just came across this thread and God spoke this to me in prayer the other day:
"I am tired of the stench of America's sin in my nostrils."
A day or two later I read 2Co 2:15, which says were are a sweet savour (smell) unto God through Jesus Christ. Could the church becoming worldly and His ministers falling asleep at the wheel cause the savour of our devotion, worship, evangelism and prayers to become faint compared to the putrid stench of a baby-killing, homosexual embracing/promoting society?
Re: Today's message at my church- Judgment is comi
This thread has made me think of Edward Gibbon's monumental The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire.
Gibbon gave the following reasons for the decline and demise of Rome:
The rapid increase of divorce
The undermining of the dignity and sanctity of the home
Higher and higher taxes
The spending of public monies for free bread
The circuses for the populace
The mad craze for pleasure — sports becoming every year more exciting and more brutal
The building of gigantic armaments when the real enemy was within the decadence of the people
The decay of religion — faith fading into mere form and becoming unable to guide the people.
What Gibbon wrote in the 18th century speaks loud and clear to the 21st century. There are warnings for us from the fall of Rome. That which threatens the home and church, jeopardizes the country.

Stop and think about it. The judgment has already started. Over the next year or so will we be able to get gas? Will we be able to get food? Parts of the country are in floods parts are in drought. Its already here.

We've always had parts of the country in drought and floods though.

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

Hi Prax,
Thats what people always think when judgment starts. These things are ordered of themselves. It is not the Lord. Whoever abides in the secret place will come out all right. All things work together for their good. Redeem the time for the days are evil.

when this person hears from the Lord I sit up and listen. He really hears from God and our pastor trust him too. He is not fluff, just a plain guy a straight shooter. He;'s told me things and it was always on
anyhow, he said he say a time coming soon when no one will be flying anywhere, no one will be taking holidays, all the planes will be empty, the vacation resorts will be empty, it will be a time of great terror.
I am sitting here trying to remember all that he said . I'll post more as it comes but it really has shaken me up. somehow I felt a witness in my spirit that this was true.
I was in San francisco Yesterday and i kept saying and thinking " Lord how long are you going to let all this sin go on and let our nation get by with this" and then here we are with today's bible study. I guess that was my answer.
the nation and church will be Judged according to this minister for the sins of our nation
any thoughts ? is this too negative to talk about ?
That could very easily, come to pass if the price of energy keeps going up.
Personally, I wouldn't blame that on God. The Democrats in Congress have voted down all opportunities for us to become energy independent. I lay that charge right at their feet.
