Cocaine? Proven to be ravenously addictive and destructive across the board. Also, one can overdose on cocaine.
Now you're comparing apples to oranges.
Remember back in the day when you could depend on an Evangelist to be honest?
That's what's sad.

Back in the early 1900s, cocaine was used for various ailments, so there is somewhat a connection between the two.
"""Use of marijuana can cause dry mouth, nausea, vomiting, dry or red eyes, heart and blood pressure problems, lung problems, impaired mental functioning, headache, dizziness, numbness, panic reactions, hallucinations, flashbacks, depression, and sexual problems."""
""" Before you use medical marijuana, it's important to talk with your doctor about any medical conditions you have. You should also talk to your doctor about your history of alcohol and drug use.
After you smoke marijuana, your heart rate can increase by 20 to 100 percent for up to three hours.
Research suggests this effect can increase the risk for heart attack in the first hour after using the drug. This risk could be higher for people who are older or have existing heart disease.
Research also suggests that use of the drug may increase the risk of schizophrenia in people who are vulnerable to it.
Using marijuana can lead to dependency on the drug. An estimated 1 in 11 marijuana users will become addicted to the drug, according to NIDA.
The number goes up to about one in six among people who start using marijuana as teenagers.
There’s increasing evidence that marijuana may be harmful for adolescents.
Those who start using marijuana at a young age may be at greater risk for long-term or permanent effects on thinking and memory.
They may also be at greater risk for developing psychosis later in life.
People who smoke marijuana are at greater risk for chronic bronchitis (a form of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD) and infection, though there’s no evidence linking the drug to lung cancer."""
First, I thought MM was supposed to help PTSD. Now I'm reading it can CAUSE psychosis, schizophrenia, panic reactions, hallucinations, flashbacks, and depression.
Second, "it may be harmful for adolescents," "greater risk for long-term or permanent effects on thinking and memory," "greater risk for developing psychosis later in life."
By all means, let's give MM to the kids and people with PTSD ... it seems totally safe!

What is sad is that you have lost your way.
Effects of short-term use is;
Impaired short-term memory, making it difficult to learn and to retain information
Impaired motor coordination, interfering with driving skills and increasing the risk of injuries Guy in loses fingers in wood shop in high school. How? Smoked a roach out of the ash tray. Where's the abuse? He was 16, smoked a roach.
Altered judgment, dude took the wrong turn didn't stop for school bus. Hits 5 year old running towards his mom.
Marijuana causes, paranoia and psychosis, which is a severe mental disorder in which thought and emotions are so impaired that contact is lost with external reality. PTSD is bad enough, imagine having PTSD with narcotic induced psychosis. Chris, how much is the kickback you are getting from posting your garbage on forums?
Effects of long-term or heavy use. Which comes from doctors and psychiatrists prescribing you medications.
Addiction (in about 9% of users overall, 17% of those who begin use in adolescence, and 25 to 50% of those who are daily users)
Altered brain development
Poor educational outcome, with increased likelihood of dropping out of school
Cognitive impairment, with lower IQ among those who were frequent users during adolescence
Diminished life satisfaction and achievement (determined on the basis of subjective and objective measures as compared with such ratings in the general population)
Symptoms of chronic bronchitis
Increased risk of chronic psychosis disorders (including schizophrenia) in persons with a predisposition to such disorders.
Chris, what you are proposing here is shear madness.

Interesting article

snippets
Spend a few minutes surfing Twitter and you’re likely to encounter a startling claim that comes without proof:
Cannabis cures cancer.
The online world is awash with such posts, startling scientists and physicians who are urging marijuana proselytizers to hit the brakes.
“What’s happening right now with marijuana reminds me of tobacco at the end of World War II. There was an explosion in its use, but little science to let people know what we were dealing with.”

I've never denied that there are risks or side effects to MM.
And I've never said it should be given to kids for non-serous conditions. We're talking about parents who have tried everything else, or who are far more concerned with the side effects of other prescription meds. If believers, why should they be condemned if they wish to try something more natural with far less serious side effects? Here's the issue... if they took their epileptic child in to see a doctor who prescribed powerful prescription medications, most pastors wouldn't really protest. And if they tolerated the crazy side effects of those medications for months hoping for improvement with nothing improving, most pastors would continue to pray for them. But... if those very same parents decide that these crazy prescription meds aren't working, and they try MM... and the child's seizures decrease or stop, and more normal development begins taking place... that pastor looses his ever-loving mind, condemns them, tells them they aren't "Apostolic", and could even run them out of church! How is this remotely balanced??? Some children have stopped breathing during seizures. Some have suffered additional bran damage. And you'd condemn the parents for giving their child MM... even if it stopped the seizures??? What gives? I'd hate to think that you'd rather see a child dead over seeing parents try MM. Please don't tell me that's what you mean. Because that's what it sounds like you're saying.
In most cases, the risks and side effects are far less serious than with so many other prescription meds. And if those meds are working... why deny parents the right to try MM? Especially if it has a chance of reducing, or even stopping, the seizures?
And if a vet is considering suicide or has demonstrated violence towards his family while under a PTSD attack, are you saying you'd rather see that vet DEAD or his family harmed over allowing him or her to try MM???
You act like the side effects and risks of MM are so bad, the people would be better off dead.
Dude, it's just weed. If it helps a kid stop having life threatening seizures.... if it helps chill a vet who is dangerous to himself or others... if it helps a man with Parkinson's be able to walk around his home, make a sandwich, and enjoy pouring a glass of Pepsi when tremors would typically have him innable to do this things... I don't see the big deal.
Life is full of risks. And when you have a serious condition and you have tried things with worse side effects, or things that are not effective... how can MM or any of the side effects you've listed be worse than the hell you're already experiencing???
