The only thing I can say that was starting to bug me a little bit is how one poster in particular seemed to be dominating all the arguments. Wherever there was a conflict, it seems like he was right there in the middle of the whole thing and sometimes the cause of it. I may get into trouble for sharing his name here, but I am used to getting into trouble from admin anyway. It was Brother Dan Alicea. In his defense, there is nothing in the rules that says you have to limit yourself to what threads you participate in or which posts you respond to, so maybe it isn't fair to single him out. (Don't take it personally, D.A., I am just being honest.) I figured he would eventually run out of steam because most people that post that much usually do.

I come here to have fun, stay connected to people of like faith, maybe to help someone every now and then, and sometimes I get involved in the deeper type of discussions. Sometimes I just need to share where I'm at in this thing called life and recently I got a lot of help from people from this forum. I like this forum much more than I did the others, so it's hard for me to really see all that much wrong with the way things are.

That is what I see... the minute that people start being honest, certain people get scared that the status quo is threatened.

I'm still me. Just more gentle. Like a transformation of sorts. I love it...

You did not answer your own thread question.

Doesn't bother me. I know there's good and bad with every organization. Recently I've come across more bad than good in relation to my once-beloved organization.

I'd list them, but I'd be marked with an infraction for tearing down the ministry. *grin*

To be fair, I've also seen good in a few ministers who are licensed with the organization. I've made friends of ministers who are UPC and non-denominational, both liberal and conservative.

So it doesn't bother me to see threads questioning certain things about the organization:

The hypocrisy of allowing internet ministries, but not allowing television ads;

The extremes in dress standards that go beyond practical Biblical standards; and

The stupidity of yanking license over a pastor owning a television, but allowing a pastor who could be a certified psychological liar to continue holding both a district position and remain an ordained minister in good standing.

See, I regard the UPC as family. And as such, I feel it's my right to be able to question it when it makes mistakes. I'll also be there to help celebrate in its moments of greatness.

Grow some skin. Learn that the UPC isn't a perfect organization as long as it's run by men and women. It's one of the best oneness organizations, but it's not perfect. Far from it.

Rico ... many men in your position suffer from it ... don't get frustrated, doubt your manhood, or feel inadequate ... You are the poster boy for Post-envy.

Who cares if my post count is bigger than yours?

Brother, I am so laughing out loud right now! Stop being so hard on these conservatives around here. We need them too, ya know.

Envy who, you? Not hardly, Bro. If anything it would be people like Brother Coonskinner and even Brother Epley. Those two haven't changed an inch in the whole time I have been posting on these forums and I respect them, even though I don't agree with them all the time. They are steadfast in what they believe, don't water it down for anyone, and at least Brother Coonskinner can make his point without getting me so angry I wanna reach through the computer and give him five right across the lips! I wish I could say the same thing for Brother Epley, but every now and again he gets under my skin in a big way and I wanna let him have it with both barrells! Even with that, I have come to respect Brother Epley. Sorry, but you just haven't been around long enough, at least not in my posting realm, to have earned that kind of respect. Again, just being honest with ya, nothing personal.
