well, another equally valid examination of that is that your forefathers found glossololia in there, and others, also respected, have not. I think this should be looked at in light of our suggestibility as humans in a peer group, and the fruit produced, mostly the last one.

I don't know who all the committees were led by, but I have read a little bit about how the translate the Bible and, while it may not be 100% because men have motives, I do trust it's been done accordingly.

What has produced fruit has been the Holy Ghost infilling and working in me -- not the tongues. That's just evidence that it happened.

i think they mostly got it right. but expressions change over time. We hear "confident expectation" over "hope" for exactly this reason. Questioning will only help one to understand, done in the right spirit.

then you deny Scripture, a la the KJV, who you just said you trusted.

I never said anything about the KJV. You did. Like you, I think they mostly got the translation right, but it is obvious they changed some things. We all know they added at least one verse and I've read others were altered.
Sorry you can't wrap your head around the idea that I don't call a protestant... or not celebrating Istar... though I thought you spoke against Istar day yourself.

Really? I think you've already proven yourself to have better reading comprehension than this makes it appear like, so stop twisting my words and pretending I said something different.
I never said anything to indicate that speaking in tongues produced fruit. In fact, I said it was only evidence. I assume you realize if we were talking about criminal evidence, then that's just a by-product of the crime, but not the actual crime itself.
Shazeep, I said that I didn't even know anything about the Holy Ghost when I got it. It all came as a surprise to me when I find myself standing there getting it.
I honestly thought before that day that anyone who went to the front of a church for prayer/healing/whatever was an actor. I was asked by a trinitarian, non-denomonational pastor if had received the Holy Ghost "with the evidence of speaking in tongues"? He may as well have been speaking a foreign language to me because I had no understanding of what I was being asked. I just said, "no" after the third time he asked because I didn't understand the question and didn't want to look stupid. I was asked to come to the front and was prayed over.
Bang! Boom! I was speaking weird and this strange drunken sensation was all over me. Best drunk I ever had. A peace I had never known before. Tongues does not produce that. The Holy Ghost does! What no one there knew was how much hatred was in my heart when I walked into the door of that church that day. I had so much hatred in my heart for my dad that I was consumed by it. I would dream of ways that I could get my revenge on him for what he had done to mess up my life. My hatred was pure and it ran deep.... but I was different from the moment I received the Holy Ghost forward. My hatred for him was gone. I was so changed that I often refere to it as the day I had heart surgery. Only the Holy Ghost could do that.

Re: ADMIN Announcement (Renda and Timmy)
wow, that is way cool, to me! i have even witnessed it happening like that. And i was just messing with you on the translation jazz; please see that i do not mean to just make up words to suit oneself without testing them against the rest of Scripture. The point is a better understanding of the bible, not a more inbred one. Anyone seeking after meat is essentially doing this, anyway. No Easter for me, tho i always just assumed i was a Protestant, i guess. Prolly something i should look at, lol. And thinking about it, aren't gifts supposed to produce fruit? Although heart surgery sounds like pretty good fruit, so...

So you were being a pest just for fun?!
I don't see myself as being protestant because I see myself as someone who is trying to get back to the purity of what the Bible teaches, which would predate the Protestant churches, even Catholicism.
No Easter for me either. Yuck.

Ha--really, i just meant to point out that what i am describing is what many people do to a limited extent anyway. We all too easily begin repeating verses until they become meaningless mantras, imo. Even if you end up with the same words, challenging them at least gives a better perspective of a passage.

I understand. I really couldn't afford to do that anymore after the Lord led me out of the trinitarian church I used to attend. As I am sure you already know, questioning everything in apostolic churches does not make you popular. It kinda has the opposite effect.
