That's right he was!! What about my favorite singer from back in the day - Ronnie Milsap. He was blind and his parents took him to an orphanage because they couldn't take care of him and he learned to play the piano and sing and has been married to the same woman!

I probably shouldn't have added the "in their own way" part, because I suppose it confused the issue. However, it's like someone saying that blind people can see "in their own way." Okay, if you put it like that, they can "see", as in PERCEIVE the world around them in ways other than through the sense of sight. But can they see? Literally? With their eyes? No. The politically correct mess would say that we need to say that even blind people can "see"--in their own way. I think that's patronizing and futile, and I object to it.

Then you need to read a dictionary because nowhere in the definition of "smart" do the words "Highly Intelligent" appear.
