Hey, preaching is good. Preachers are wonderful. But the idea that nobody's getting saved without one (a literal, human preacher, here and now) is a little hard to swallow.

Hate to tell you Timmy sometimes the word gets out rather slow but those good men are dead. They cannot watch for your souls since they are dead.
They cannot carry a burden for you or pray for you. They cannot be there when you need someone. But the good news is that Gid yet today in 2007 has preachers that will preach the words left by these men.

I guess I just have a good pastor and good church so it's hard for me to understand those who don't. I've been blessed!
By the way, I was thinking of you today. I miss talking to you!! Hope you're doing well!

I dont know of ANY Christian who does not want a home Church and Eldership. Many do want it and pray for it. What we/I dont want is the typical Apostolic Church that teaches error as much as Trins except for Oneness and Acts 2:38.
So if one follows a false teacher he is safe just as long as he attends Church?

Well stated...
I think however that some decisions can only be considered in the light of the circumstances.
A man who throws his dog overboard because the pirates want to eat it will be judged for throwing his dog into the sea but hopefully with a bit of relief.

By this logic, if I have a copy of the Constitution I can proclaim myself president of the United States... if you claim that the Bible is your "letter of marque", then can you tell me what page it lists your name specifically? This shouldn't be too much to ask, because otherwise any of the 7 billion people on this planet could present the same proof that they represent God and are acting on his authority.
You guys are putting the cart before the horse, you claim all of this authority, yet other than the fact that you believe God has placed you in this position, you have no proof.

Exactly. The part people seem to conveniently forget is that NO ONE CAN DO EVERYTHING THE BIBLE SAYS TO DO. If it were possible for anyone to do everything the Bible says to do then there would have been no reason whatsoever for Jesus to have to come to Earth in the first place. The minute anyone makes the focus of their walk with God a matter of following rules then salvation stops being by grace and starts being by works, thereby nullifying everything Jesus did on Calvary. This is what annoys me so much about dealing with church people. The high and mighty ones forget that we are all in the same boat, depending on God's grace and mercy.

And I do submit to authority. I just don't necessarily recognize as authority the same offices that you do. But I submit to the goverment, to the police, to my Boss.

Sister, you are wasting you time. If you don't bow down to them you are lost and headed straight for hell.

Ok. If God isn't going to change His method then every single pastor in the Church needs to step down and let elders be ordained to run the church. That's how it was done in the Bible.

How shall they hear without a preacher? THAT IS IN YOUR BIBLE! Try reading it sometimes.

This is hilarious. Why do you think people aren't able to read what it takes to be saved? It's right there in plain old style English.
