But to tell people that they have to give an excuse to miss church............ I'm sorry, but that kind of thing makes me crazy!

AMEN !!!

Few saints are paid to go to church, clean it, play instruments, teach bible studies.....bring friends etc etc....AND give offerings....but they do it willingly anyways....you have some that complain and some that don't..... Some saints feel if they are tithing that man better be there to preach and not get some one else to do it. We live in a world of unhappy people who can just nit pick the pastor or the saints to death.

Welcome to AFF the Pastor/Saint eating machine

LOL...and some can not only afford vacations that many saints can't....they can afford them often to places like Hawaii. Everyone should get a vacation every once in a while.

Re: Now I've heard it all

This place is going down hill. I say we should go start our own SaintsONLY forum and exclude preachers

Re: Now I've heard it all

I really don't understand the mentality that a pastor does not need to know 1. if you are going to miss church, or 2. the reason why. God has given you a pastor as a gift---to watch over your soul and to give an account for you. If you are not willing or are afraid to communicate to your pastor as to your whereabouts, there is a serious relationship problem. It is just common courtesy. If you trust him to be your pastor and feel that he loves you, why wouldn't you want him to know where you are and that everything is ok. So that he is not up on the platform trying to concentrate on getting his sermon together wondering if you're in a car accident or something.

This is all relative to how large the church in question is. Trust me, my pastor would not want to be bothered every time someone misses church!
