Week 3 I believe? State rested it's circumstantial case on Friday. Pre-trial I had GZ guilty of manslaughter, mostly because I felt he was wrong to follow and confront TM. After the testimony of the SPD Liaison and others, I now understand he was doing exactly what he was trained to do. His previous calls to non-emergency netted in 3 people being arrested on burglary charges. And while his statements haven't all been 100% accurate, the main parts have stayed the same.

My mom always told me you can tell a lot of a person by the friends they keep. GZ's best friend is a US Air Marshall. TM's best friend is an alcoholic, marijuana smoking juvenile who has no respect for anyone, including the court.

I certainly sympathize with the anger and frustration of the Martin family and doubt that a jury will accept the entirety of George Zimmerman's account as credible. But based on the legal standard and evidence presented by prosecutors it is difficult to see how jurors find proof beyond a reasonable doubt that it wasn't self defense.

The article is worth a read. Since the msm is largely responsible for the racial mess they made of this trial, I hope to see more articles like this in the days ahead, showing that GZ did NOT commit a crime; that the Pros' case is so circumstantial and thin that the only reason it was brought was because the Sanford Mayor, Al Sharpton, Barack Obama and others cried racism.

An article on CNN said this about the end of the trial:

When the jury emerges from deliberations days or weeks from now to render its verdict in that Florida courtroom, when the family of Trayvon Martin leans forward in breathless anticipation and when George Zimmerman stands to hear his fate, you can bet your Disney vacation the whole affair will end badly.

It's important to note, TM's mother has a degree in communication. I believe it was that which led her to hire Crump to represent them.

In Trayvon’s case, they [Crump's firm] alerted the news media more quickly. They phoned the Rev. Al Sharpton almost instantly, and organized marches with local civil-rights activists. They also started pressing for federal involvement and alleging a cover-up from the get-go.

Jermyn has tried saying that the marches and demonstrations were just spontaneous and not part of any strategy or centralized effort. The statement above should put that claim to rest.

No stranger to attracting media attention, Rev. Al Sharpton took on the challenge with passion. Brian Stetler at The New York Times details how Sharpton brought the spotlight with him on his trip to Florida:

“The attorney called and said, ‘I need you again,’ ” Mr. Sharpton recalled in a telephone interview from Florida, where he staged a rally Thursday night to call for justice. He took his radio and TV shows with him, thereby amplifying his call.

Mr. Sharpton has used his shows for all manner of advocacy. He analogized radio, with its hours of airtime and calls from listeners, to “ground forces” and MSNBC as “air strikes” and said, “If you have a war, you’re going to need both.”

Natalie Jackson, a local lawyer on the case, brought in publicist Ryan Julison on March 5th to get the story in front of the media. Jackson, Julison, and Crump all contributed their time on a pro bono basis. They saw the injustice of the case and knew "that publicity could force officials to act, but it would require persuading two people who had never stood before a television camera to withstand the spotlight" (Reuters). Trayvon's parents were their greatest asset in the media campaign:

"I got on the phone with Tracy Martin and I told him, ‘It's not going to be any fun, but this is the only way to find justice,'" Julison said. "You are going to have to bare your soul and express your emotions and your inner grief." Martin and Fulton agreed.

There is a ton of information in this article that's important to see the timeline of how this became a national story. The Change.org petition and Obama's authorizing the Justice Dept to investigate the case were a huge part making the public believe something shady happened. Of course, it helped that ignorant celebrities used their twitter feeds and award shows to put out their support for TM.

Hopefully the Defense has other witnesses and other questions other than just to play the tape and ask who they think is screaming.

Funny, Pros can't impeach the wit, so he first attacks the book sales; then he goes to the gutter and tries to surprise her with a recording of GZ.

Seriously...this is the Pros' case. Again, in the words of Rachel Jeantel, "that's retarded sir."

The Pros' case is based on GZ saying "these (blanks) always get away" and "(blank) punks."
