You never answered my question, how did the man in the picture not match the person you have in the avatar? Who is who? Please explain.
The guy in my avatar is named Mike Nelson, he was the host of the show Mystery Science Theater 3000.

Could you post the information from those references?

No. From Mystery Science Theatre 3000. Referring to RandyWayne's reference. Good show.

To celebrate your birthday everyone did things that had nothing to do with you personally. Also they only focus on the moments that you were born, and some time later when you were about two years old when some magicians came by your house.

Your birthday has had its date changed, borrowed from a more popular individual (who was around way before your birth), and to make matters worse a fat dwarf in red pajamas and a pine tree with jewelry on it now is a reminder of what you represent?

I thought Jesus is about His death, burial and resurrection?

Isn't that celebrated through the water baptism in Jesus name?

Just a thought.

In Jesus name

In my opinion there's a difference between celebrating Christmas as, "Christ's Birth Day", and choosing Christmas as a day to honor Christ's birth. Choosing to replace an ancient Pagan celebration is quite fitting. It's like razing an ancient pagan temple and building a Church over it's ruins.

I believe in taking DOMINION over all things bringing them into submission and using them to honor Christ...I don't believing in running scared.

I don't believe in running scared either. Neither do I believe in standing on a bed of hot coals and expecting God to prevent my feet from being burned and blistered.

The more I get to know God, and what He desires, the more it takes my breath away when I look around and realize what's happening all around me. People who desperately love God and pursue relationship with Him, and desire more of Him engage in things that are so opposite of His desires.

I really don't care what you do as far as celebrating Christmas, I've said that over and over and over again. You'll answer to God, and He's a just and merciful, gracious, compassionate and loving God.

Editing to add one more thought. It may be possible to truly use Christmas day to honor God without tying any of the pagan influence into it. I would love to hear about that to be honest, because the influence is so very strong and woven into the culture we live in.
