As Christians we should respect one another, but its dishonest to pretend that God doesn't or didn't expect us to show special respect to and for prophets, priests, ministers. By the way, that particular word "anointed" means: "a consecrated person, as a king, priest or saint, specifically the Messiah."

Secondly, there IS some preacher bashing that goes on here. Some do it, some don't. It doesn't help anyone to pretend that doesn't happen. Two wrongs don't make a right.
But it's obviously different when it's women preachers being bashed. They can even be referred to as masculine lesbians!

LOL!

This thread about abusive ministers is considered 'preacher bashing'.

Where were you when one of your colleagues posted that he considers some women preachers to be 'masculine lesbians' in the pulpit? Why aren't you calling him on his preacher bashing???

Move on and get a life.
Is this how you preach to the hurting folks in your congregation?

Actually, its the same logic as others who "bash" preachers. If they can somehow disqualify the preacher as "anointed" in their minds, or in reality, then they are free to speak as they wish, with no consequences. Men who bash women preachers, feel they can do so, because they don't believe the women are truly anointed, therefore their respect isn't necessary.

Usually, if we mistreat someone, it is because we have first convinced ourselves that they are of little or no value.

And that's exactly the response I was expecting by WH........it's not bashing if one doesn't believe they are legit.

Thanks!

I would never say such a thing or condone it.

I have never had someone come into a church that I [pastor with these types of complaints. If Did I would investigate them to see if they were true, many times thing agree blown all out of proportion. They I would tell the person to get on with their live. Leave the past in the past, have a good prayer meeting and go on.

According to our dentist, we have too much fluoride in our rural water.
